Rebecca Paule-Font

Associate Solicitor
Rebecca joins Lewis Family Lawyers as an Associate Solicitor, bringing a thoughtful, advocacy-driven approach to family law.
Rebecca holds a Juris Doctor and Graduate Legal Practice Diploma from the University of Newcastle, graduating in 2018 and being admitted to practice in 2019. She also completed an undergraduate degree in Music at the same university in 2008, a background that continues to inform her deep appreciation for the arts.
Prior to entering the legal profession, Rebecca lived in London and spent several years travelling extensively, visiting 98 countries between 2009 and 2015. During her studies, she worked as a Paralegal and as an Investigator with the NSW Government, experiences that shaped her analytical skills and people-centred approach.
Since admission, Rebecca has practised in a generalist firm across family law, family provision, and commercial litigation. She soon discovered a strong passion for family law and family provision matters and has since focused her practice in these areas. She particularly enjoys advocacy work and the balance required in family law, knowing when to negotiate and when to firmly advance a client’s position.

Rebecca has developed a particular interest in non-disclosure matters and cases involving significant domestic violence. Known for her empathy and compassion, she believes these qualities are essential in effective family law practice.

Outside of work, Rebecca is married with two young children. She enjoys tennis, reading, road trips, travel, and describes herself as a proudly pretentious classical music enthusiast. She is actively involved in the arts and recently joined the board of Newcastle Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service, reflecting her strong commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the community.

A moment that stuck with Rebecca: “A moment that stayed with me occurred in the very early days of my career. I was appearing in the FCFCOA, and the presiding Judge asked for a picture of the subject children. When the photos were handed up, she kept them on the bench for the entire trial and referred to them often. This resonated with me because, particularly in family law, it’s not a business deal. Family lawyers are privileged to work with real people, and very often their children, and the decisions made can permanently shape the trajectory of someone’s life. For me, the memory of those photos serves as a lasting reminder of the importance of delivering the best possible case every time.”
